Our Accreditation
St. Mathews Academy is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. The school offers the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) curriculum up to Class X and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) curriculum for Classes XI and XII. With a strong commitment to academic excellence, the school has consistently achieved a 100% pass result in the ICSE and ISC Board Examinations for over 15 consecutive years, reflecting its dedication to quality education and holistic student development.

Dr. Olive Mathews - Our Nanima
At the heart of St. Mathews Academy are two extraordinary educators whose vision, values, and unwavering commitment to children laid the foundation of the institution we know today Dr. Olive Mathews (“Nanima”) and Dr. Suresh Mathews (“Apacha”).
Affectionately known as Nanima, Dr. Olive Mathews holds a cherished place in the hearts of generations of students. Much like a grandmother, she embodies warmth, wisdom, care, and unwavering support, creating an environment where every child feels valued, nurtured, and inspired to excel. With over six decades of distinguished service in education, she has dedicated her life to shaping young minds and building institutions of excellence. A scholar of English Literature, she holds undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees in the discipline, along with professional qualifications in both primary and secondary education.
Dr. Mathews strong sense of discipline, leadership, and commitment to excellence stems from her training as a National Cadet Corps (NCC) Officer, where she was honoured as the Best Candidate of her Batch. Over the course of her illustrious career, she has served as Principal of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited School, Lucknow; Principal and Secretary of Hutchings High School, Pune; and Assistant Secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. Guided by her vision of providing quality education rooted in strong values, she founded St. Mathews Academy, which has grown into a respected CISCE-affiliated institution.
Standing steadfastly beside her was her husband, Dr. Suresh Mathews, fondly remembered by students as Apacha. A highly respected educator and a true teacher of teachers, he retired as Reader and Head of the Department of Physical Education at Lucknow Christian College, affiliated with the University of Lucknow. Known for his quiet strength, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to education, Dr. Suresh Mathews played an indispensable role in transforming a dream into reality. St. Mathews Academy would not have been born but for his determination, vision, and steadfast support.
Together, Nanima and Apacha believed that education should nurture not only academic excellence but also character, discipline, compassion, and a sense of responsibility. Their shared commitment to holistic education and Indian values continues to guide the institution and inspire all who walk through its doors.
Today, their legacy lives on in every classroom, every teacher, and every student of St. Mathews Academy, a lasting testament to two educators whose lives were dedicated to shaping future generations.

Dr. Olive Mathews is the Founder Principal and Chairperson of St. Mathews Academy, an institution built on the pillars of discipline, academic rigor, and strong values. Under her leadership, the school has grown into a respected centre of learning, affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
Her vision was clear from the outset—to create not just a school, but a nurturing ecosystem where students are prepared for life with integrity, confidence, and a deep sense of responsibility.
With over six decades of experience in education, Dr. Mathews brings exceptional academic depth to her role. She holds a Doctorate in English Literature, along with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the same field, complemented by formal training in both primary and secondary education.
Her strong academic foundation has consistently translated into institutions that uphold high standards of learning and intellectual discipline.
Dr. Mathews’ leadership journey spans some of the country’s most respected institutions. She began as Principal of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited School, Lucknow, where she played a pivotal role in its expansion and CBSE affiliation.
She later served as Principal and Secretary of Hutchings High School, Pune (1987–2000), where she successfully guided the institution’s growth into a Junior College. In 2000, she joined the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, as Assistant Secretary, overseeing examinations and contributing to the evaluation and inspection of schools across India.
Beyond academics and administration, Dr. Mathews exemplifies a well-rounded and dynamic personality. A state-level basketball player representing Uttar Pradesh, a trained NCC Officer, and recipient of the Best Cadet award, she has always championed discipline and resilience.
Her passion for music further reflects her creative spirit—having led school choirs and contributed as a singer, producer, and director for multiple choir productions.
At the heart of St. Mathews Academy lies Dr. Mathews’ enduring vision—an education that balances academic excellence with character, culture, and compassion. Her emphasis on Indian values, holistic development, and meaningful student experiences continues to shape generations of learners.
Today, her legacy lives on through every Mathewite—individuals who step into the world not only with knowledge, but with integrity, confidence, and a sense of purpose.
Dr. Sheena Pereira
Dr. Sheena Pereira has been instrumental in translating her parents vision into reality by helping establish and nurture St. Mathews Academy as an institution dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality education.
An alumna of La Martiniere Girls College, Dr. Pereira completed her B.A. (Economics) from Fergusson College and her Postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. She also holds an M.A. (English), a B.Ed., and a Ph.D. in Management (2020) from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth.
She is a certified trainer in Communication Skills, having earned a Professional Certificate from Trinity College London. Over the years, she has successfully guided numerous students in preparing for and excelling in Trinity’s internationally recognized communication skills examinations.
A distinguished sportsperson, Dr. Pereira captained the Uttar Pradesh State Swimming Team during her school years and represented the state with distinction at the national level. She was also selected for the Pre-Asian Games Camp in Springboard Diving in 1982.
As Principal of St. Mathews Academy, Dr. Pereira combines academic excellence, administrative expertise, and a deep commitment to student development. Her leadership continues to foster a culture of learning, discipline, and holistic growth, empowering students to realize their full potential and become responsible global citizens.
